Geno Smith Out 6-10 With Broken Jaw, Browns Possibly Looking At Rice, Raiders May Move To LA

FOOTBALL

Geno SmithIn the NFL, the big story of the day came from within the New York Jets camp.  The Jets had 3rd year quarterback Geno Smith penciled in at quarterback.  Smith did not have a great season but expectations were high this year. Unfortunately for the Smith and the Team,  7th round rookie, IK Enemkpali  punched Geno in the face and broke his jaw.  Apparently the whole altercation was on account of an argument over a $600 plane ticket.  Geno Smith will be out for 6-10 weeks.  The Jets will need Ryan Fitzpatrick to take over at QB. They even reached out to Michael Vick and Rex Grossman as backups to the backup.

Elsewhere in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns don’t look too promising this season as their running back corps is looking a little thin.  Isaiah Crowell is their starter, but in order to get some more firepower, head coach Mike Pettine said that they were potentially looking into the possibility of signing Ray Rice.  Rice has been out of the league for over a year since becoming Public Enemy #1 after hitting his wife in an elevator. Pettine, however,  said that they are “not yet there” on Rice.  Rice has said that he is rehabilitated, but that doesn’t mean that a team is willing to give him another chance.

Finally in the NFL, the Oakland Raiders may officially move to Los Angeles.  Oakland fans would be upset but LA is a huge market and has been lobbying for an NFL team for awhile.
