According to ESPN, Jones’ father, Alvin, passed away in April at 56 years old from  COVID-19 complications.

Jets Destroyed, Brady Still The Goat, Ravens Edge Chiefs, Rodgers Looking To Comeback, Ted Lasso Wins Big

FOOTBALL

It was another tough day for the NJ Jets who got destroyed for the 11th straight time by the New England Patriots. This loss particularly hurt as their rookie quarterback Zach Wilson threw four interceptions in his home debut.

After throwing for five touchdowns in a 48-25 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Tom Brady made history again. He has now thrown for a league-leading nine touchdowns through the first two weeks of the regular season. And, of course, Brady’s buddy Rob Gronkowski caught two of the touchdowns.

Thankfully, the Sunday night game featuring the Baltimore Ravens vs the Kansas City Chiefs did not disappoint. The Ravens pulled out a 36-35 win thanks to inspired play by Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson.

Raiders Thrill In MNF, Manning Brothers Entertain

FOOTBALL

It was a thrilling win on Monday night for the Las Vegas Raiders who defeated the Baltimore Ravens 33-27 in overtime. The end of the game was crazy; an overturned touchdown call, an interception, a fumble then a game-winning drive. For highlights click here.

Raiders coach Jon Gruden said it best, “I felt like I died and woke up … and died again. I was like a cat — I had multiple lives tonight. … It was tough [but] we did a lot of good things to win.”

In addition to an exciting game on the field, the Manning brothers provided an entertaining alternative to the regular commentary. Peyton and Eli hosted a broadcast on ESPN2 which featured the brothers sitting around offering commentary on the game. According to Peyton, “It’s kind of like you’re watching the game at a bar, and me and Eli show up and watch the game with you.”

Oregon Upset Ohio State, Cat Saved At Miami Game, Winston, Murray Big Games, Djokovic Run Ends, Raducanu’s Historic Run

FOOTBALL

It didn’t take long for there to be a shakeup in the College Football Playoffs. On Saturday, #12 Oregon upset heavily favored #3 Ohio State 35-28.  With the win, Oregon jumped to #4 while Ohio State fell to #9.

One of the best highlights of the college football weekend was seeing University of Miami fans save a cat dangling from the rafters, then parading the cat around like Mufasa and Simba in Lion King.

In the first weekend of NFL football, Jameis Winston threw for five touchdowns to lead the New Orleans Saints to a very lopsided victory over the Green Bay Packers, whose quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for two interceptions and recorded one of the worst games of his career.

In another route, the Arizona Cardinals, thanks to quarterback Kyler Murray who scored five touchdowns and stellar defense from Chandler Jones (who had a career-high five sacks), overran the Tennesse Titans 38-13.

Monday Night Football will feature the Baltimore Ravens vs the Las Vegas Raiders.
