Rousey To Fight Soon, Michael Jordan’s Confidence, Legend Frank Gifford Passes
UFC
In the Ultimate Fighting Championships, just a week after Ronda Rousey destroyed Bette Correia, Ronda’s next fight is already being discussed. Rousey is quickly becoming a cash cow for the sport, especially because she defeats opponents in under a minute. Now everyone is talking about Rousey taking on Kris “Cyborg” Justino. Justino is at the top of her game in the fighting world, albeit she is older than Rousey. Nothing is official, and many think that this is Justino’s camp drumming up interest so she can get a big money shot at Rousey. Rousey said she is ready to fight anyone.
BASKETBALL
At Michael Jordan’s basketball camp in California, Michael Jordan had an interesting Q&A session with the kids. One kid asked… “Who was a better coach, Dean Smith (Jordan’s coach at North Carolina) or Phil Jackson (Jordan’s coach with the Bulls who led him to 6 championships). Jordan answered immediately saying “Dean Smith”, then followed this with “Phil was lucky, because Dean Smith coached me so well at North Carolina”. Then, another kid asked if Jordan could beat LeBron 1-on-1. Jordan said at this point in his life, probably not. But if he took on LeBron in his prime… no question”. You have to love and admire Jordan’s confidence.
FOOTBALL
And in some sad news, one of the long time voices of Monday Night Football and a Hall of Famer, Frank Gifford, died at the age of 84. Gifford was a legend within the NFL. He was a star for the New York Giants, and then a welcome face every Monday night throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The League and the entire sports world will miss him.
