Women Reach Deal With USA Hockey, Red Wings End Playoff Streak, Warriors Record 60th Win Again

HOCKEY

Just days before the World Championship, the US women’s national hockey team reached an agreement with USA Hockey. Among the changes in the agreement, USA Hockey agreed to an increase in salary to $70,000 per player with bonuses for winning medals. The Women’s Team has won 6 of the last 8 World Titles and will compete on Friday to defend their legacy in the first round of the World Championship against the Canadians.

It’s the end of an era for the Detroit Red Wings. With their loss on Tuesday, they will miss the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time in 25 years.

BASKETBALL

In a win over the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors recorded their 60th win for the 3rd straight season, becoming only the 5th franchise in history to do this. The win was also a milestone for coach Steve Kerr as it notched his 200th victory.
