Dirk Nowitzki Scores 30,000th, Westbrook’s 58 Points Not Enough, LeBron Jr’s Highlights

BASKETBALL

38 year old Dallas Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki joined an exclusive group Tuesday night by scoring his 30,000th point in the NBA. Dirk now joins only 5 other players to accomplish this feat: Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Karl Malone. Many former and current NBA players took to social media to congratulate Dirk on this historic accomplishment. And, Commissioner Adam Silver wrote, “Throughout his 19 seasons with the Mavericks, Dirk has been a model player and terrific ambassador for our game. The latest accomplishment further establishes his legacy as one of the NBA’s greatest players.”

OKC’s Russell Westbrook went on a tear Tuesday night with a career high 58 points against the Portland Trailblazers, but shockingly it wasn’t enough for the Team to pull out a win. Portland 126, Oklahoma 121.

LeBron James Jr is only 12 years old and getting interest from college basketball powerhouses like Duke and Kentucky. After Jr’s participation in this year’s John Lucas All Star Weekend,  LeBron commented that his son has more skill than he did at that age. He may not be wrong. Here’s his latest highlight reel.
