Risacher #1 Pick In NBA Draft, Bronny James Will Play With His Dad, A.I. Generated Al Michaels, Jacksonville’s New Stadium

BASKETBALL

French player Zaccharie Risacher was chosen #1 in the NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Fellow Frenchman Alex Sarr went #2 to the Washington Wizards.

The Los Angeles Lakers selected LeBron James’s son, Bronny, in the second round of the draft. LeBron (39) will now get his wish to play with his 19-year-old son, making LeBron/Bronny the first father-son duo in NBA history.

OLYMPICS

This summer, NBC will use A.I. to generate broadcaster Al Michaels’s voice to create Olympic recap videos.  Many people are skeptical about how this will be received and why it’s necessary (considering Michaels is very much alive and could do this without A.I.).

FOOTBALL

The Jacksonville Jaguars and the city of Jacksonville agreed to a $1.4 billion project to rebuild their stadium and keep the franchise there. The “Stadium of the Future” will be a complete overhaul of EverBank Stadium and is projected to begin construction after the 2025 season.

Panthers Win First Stanley Cup Championship, JJ Redick New Laker Coach, Frankie Muniz Nascar Racer

HOCKEY

The Florida Panthers finally won a Stanley Cup Championship after a 30 year drought. The Panthers were up 3-0 then gave up three games to tie the series, but managed to pull out a win in Game 7. This is their first Championship in franchise history.

BASKETBALL

The LA Lakers hired former NBA player and podcaster JJ Redick as their next head coach. Redick, who is replacing Darvin Ham, has no previous coaching experience. According to reports, he will make $8 million per season with the Lakers.

MOTORSPORTS

Actor Frankie Muniz joined Reaume Brothers Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The “Malcolm in the Middle” star has been working his way through NASCAR’s ladder system with some impressive finishes. Known for his passion and commitment, Muniz has been honing his skills behind the wheel, and his transition from Hollywood to the racetrack has been met with enthusiasm by fans and competitors alike.

Celtics Win 18th NBA Championship, Clark/Reese Rivalry, Aiyuk Says 49ers Don’t Want Me

BASKETBALL

Thanks to the dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA championship last night in a decisive Game 5 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. With the win, the Celtics broke a tie with the L.A. Lakers for the most titles in NBA history.

The rivalry between Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever and Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky is making for and entertaining WNBA season. For the second time this season, Clark had a flagrant foul committed against her during a Sky matchup. This week Angel Reese was the culprit for unintentionally bashing Clark across the head.

FOOTBALL

San Francisco wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk sent a message via TikTok video to his former teammate at Arizona State, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, that the 49ers “don’t want me back.”

Celtics Up 3-0, Legendary Jerry West Died, Joey Chestnut Winner-Take-All Contest On Labor Day

BASKETBALL

The Boston Celtics are up 3-0 against the Dallas Mavericks. With a win tonight, they will be crowned NBA Champions.

Basketball legend Jerry West died at 86. West led the Lakers to multiple championships as a player and then as a general manager. The NBA logo is reported to be West dribbling.

HOT DOG EATING

As reported, Nathan’s Famous won’t allow Joey Chestnut, the biggest name in competitive eating, to compete at their annual 4th of July event. Chestnut will likely have the last word, as it was announced he will face Takeru Kobayashi in a winner-take-all hot dog eating contest airing on Netflix on Labor Day.

Joey Chestnut Can’t Compete In Nathan’s Famous, Porzingis Injury

HOT DOG EATING

Joey Chestnut, the GOAT of  professional eating, won’t be able to compete in Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest, a July 4th tradition. The 16-time winner of the famous “Mustard Belt” signed a deal with the plant-based Impossible Foods company, and even though Impossible had no issue with Chestnut competing, Nathan’s Famous demanded loyalty and balked at the idea. Joey wrote on Instagram, he “was very disappointed to learn from the media today that after nearly 20 years I am banned from the Nathan’s 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. I love competing in that event, I love celebrating America with my fans all over this great country on the 4th and I have been training to defend my title.”

BASKETBALL

The Celtics have a 2-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks, but tonight’s game could be difficult if Kristaps Porzingis isn’t cleared to play. Porzingis has a tear in his ankle which could cause dislocation of his tendon.

Clark Not On Team USA, Hurley Turns Down Lakers, Celtics Up 2-0, Carlos Alcaraz Wins French Open

BASKETBALL

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark was not asked to join the 12-player roster for the U.S. Olympic team. Team USA’s decision has been controversial, as many believe Clark’s celebrity status would have increased ratings and attendance. Others contend that the decision is sound because she’s not one of the top 12 best players in the WNBA.

UConn’s Dan Hurley turned down a $70 million offer to coach the LA Lakers and will stay with his winning college team.

The Boston Celtics have a 2-0 lead against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. The Celtics head to Dallas for game 3 on Wednesday night.

TENNIS

Carlos Alcaraz won his first French Open title. With the win, he now has three Grand Slam titles under his belt and is the only men’s player to win his first three Grand Slam’s on three different surfaces.

Clark/Reese Drama, Simone’s The GOAT, McManus Released, McCaffrey Signs Huge Contract

BASKETBALL

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has energized viewership of WNBA games, but some are wondering why her and why now. Her rival Angel Reese (Chicago Skye rookie) is also getting attention. She was fined $1000 over the weekend for violating the league’s media policy and then ejected on Tuesday in a loss against the New York Liberty for “disrespecting an official.”

OLYMPICS

Simone Biles is cementing her status as the best gymnast of all time. In the U.S. Gymnastics Championship, she swept every title, including the national title, which is her ninth (a record for a man or woman).

FOOTBALL

The Washington Commanders released kicker Brandon McManus a week after he was accused of sexual assault by two flight attendants on a team flight to London.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey signed a two-year extension worth 38 million. McCaffrey was already the league’s highest-paid running back.
