Tony Romo Leaving Cowboys, Brandon Marshall Heading Across Town

FOOTBALL

After 14 years with the Dallas Cowboys, looks like QB Tony Romo will be moving on. Romo suffered from injuries in the last few years. In 2013, Romo underwent two back surgeries, then two years later broke his collarbone, and finally this year in spring training hurt his back again. Dak Prescott, a fourth round pick, replaced Romo as the starter and led the team to a 13-3 record while also garnering offensive rookie of the year honors. Romo leaves the Cowboys as the all-time leader in touchdowns and passing yards. No word yet where Romo will end up, but many speculate he’ll be either a Denver Bronco or Houston Texan next year.

In other football news, wide receiver Brandon Marshall is leaving the NY Jets and heading across town to join the NY Giants. Giants’ QB Eli Manning now has three effective targets at wide receiver (including Odell Beckham Jr and Sterling Shephard) and a veteran voice of reason in the locker room.

Many free agent deals are in the works, but nothing will be guaranteed until 4;00 today when the new league year officially begins.
