Durant’s Calf Injury, Splash Brothers Step Up, Bucks Heading To Finals, Lakers Disarray

BASKETBALL

Kevin Durant left in the third quarter with a calf injury, but Steph Curry and Klay Thompson (the Splash Brothers) stepped up to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 104-99 win over the Houston Rockets for a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Semis. Durant will get an MRI on Thursday to determine the seriousness of his injury, but it appears unlikely he’ll play game 6 on Friday in Houston.

The Milwaukee Bucks are heading to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2001. After losing their first game of the series against the Boston Celtics, the Bucks came back strong and won the next four thanks to their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks will play the winner of the Philadelphia/Toronto series where the Raptors are up 3-2 with game 6 on Thursday. Milwaukee 116, Boston 91

The Lakers franchise appears to be in disarray. Most recently, the team is having a problem hiring their next head coach. Tyronn Lue seemed to be the best bet, but according to reports, the negotiations have ended. According to ESPN, negotiations “may have also hit an ‘impasse’ over the team preferring certain assistant coaches, namely former Bucks coach and NBA star Jason Kidd.”
