76ers Dominate Raptors In Game 3, Ainge Suffers Heart Attack, Russell Caught With Marijuana In Iced Tea Can

BASKETBALL

The Philadelphia 76ers dominated the Toronto Raptors to take a game 3 win on Thursday night in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Thanks to a healthy Joel Embiid and his 33 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 3 assists, the Sixers came out strong and never fell behind for a 116-95 trouncing. Philadelphia leads the series 2-1.

Danny Ainge, the 60-year old Boston Celtics General Manager and President of basketball operations, had a mild heart attack on Tuesday in Milwaukee. The Celtics were in Milwaukee for games 1 and 2 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal matchup with the Bucks. Game 3 will be in Boston Friday night. Ainge, who is expected to make a full recovery, played with the Celtics and won 3 NBA championships with the team (two as a player and one as the GM/President).

The Brooklyn Nets point guard, D’Angelo Russell, was caught with marijuana in a hidden compartment of a fake Arizona Iced Tea can at LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night. Russell was given a citation but not arrested.  The NBA collective bargaining agreement states, “a player who violates the league’s marijuana policy enters a ‘marijuana program’ upon the first violation, can be fined $25,000 upon the second violation and can be suspended five games upon a third violation.”
