Jameis Winston Elementary School Speech, Cousins Era Bad Start

FOOTBALL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston, the #1 pick in the 2015 draft, has been getting criticized by the media for a speech he gave at an elementary school Wednesday morning. He was at the school to speak about his three life rules: God, school, and accomplishing anything you put your mind to. When one boy in the audience started acting up, Winston asked all the boys to stand (and the girls to sit) and said, “But the ladies, they’re supposed to be silent, polite, gentle. My men, my men (are) supposed to be strong. I want y’all to tell me what the third rule of life is: I can do anything I put my mind to. Scream it!” Winston admitted afterwards it was “poor word choice”.

BASKETBALL

In his first game on his new team, DeMarcus Cousins played well but it wasn’t enough for the New Orleans Pelicans, as they were destroyed by the Houston Rockets. Making the night much worse, Cousins teammate (Omri Casspi) who was also traded by the Kings to the Pelicans, broke his thumb during the game and will be out 4-6 weeks. It was a rough start for the Pelicans. Rockets 129, Pelicans 99.
