Revis Charged With Assault, Crosby Scores 1000th Point, NBA All Star Weekend

FOOTBALL

NY Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and terroristic threats. According to reports, a man approached Revis, asked his identity, then followed him while continuing to record him on his cell phone. When Revis tried to throw the phone away, the man’s friend appeared and attempted to retrieve the phone. A fight erupted and both men were left unconscious. Revis disputed this account and claimed he thought the phone was a weapon. Either way, the timing of this incident isn’t great as Revis had one of his worst seasons with the Jets and needs to show the team he’s serious about next season.

HOCKEY

Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby scored his 1000th career point, the 86th player in history to record that many points, and at age 29, the 12th fastest player to reach that mark. Congrats!

BASKETBALL

NBA All Star Weekend is here with an exciting array of events. New Orleans took over hosting the big weekend after Charlotte, NC refused to overturn a controversial “bathroom” law deemed to discriminate against transgender, gay and lesbian people. For a lineup of all the activities including the 3-point contest, slam dunk contest, skills challenge and celebrity game (unfortunately Kevin Hart’s not playing this year), click here.
