All-Star Weekend, DeMarcus Cousins Traded To Pelicans

BASKETBALL

All-Star weekend is all about fun and entertainment for the fans with a skills challenge, three point contest, dunk contest and of course the east vs west offensive shootout known as the All-Star game. For the players, it’s an honor to be selected to compete and a seemingly fun weekend of showcasing their abilities and hanging out with friends, family, legends of the game and of course the celebrities (Beyonce made an appearance and John Legend entertained the crowd at halftime).

The biggest surprise of the weekend was the announcement late Sunday night that Sacramento Kings’ All-Star DeMarcus Cousins was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans to join fellow All-Star (and MVP of Sunday night’s game) Anthony Davis. Davis and Cousins are top five scorers in the League this season, and the Pelicans will be looking to make the playoffs after this big trade.
