Fowler Deal Worth $35 Mill, Heat Lose Udrih, RGIII Done In Washington

MLB

The Baltimore Orioles have signed free-agent outfielder Dexter Fowler to a three-year deal worth about $35 million. Fowler recently rejected an offer from the Cubs, who he was with for only one year. Before that, he was with the Colorado Rockies for six years. In his only year with Chicago, Fowler set career records in home runs, walks, and strike-outs. The Cubs will be compensated with a first round draft pick. The regular baseball season starts in six weeks.

It has gone from bad to worse for the Miami Heat. After losing several players to injuries and medical conditions this season, the Heat are now down to Goran Tragic as the lone experienced point guard for the team. Backup point guard Beno Udrih suffered a foot injury early on in Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers. The injury is more serious than previously thought, requiring season-ending surgery. While Miami lost Udrih, they beat the Pacers in overtime. Heat 101, Pacers 93.

Robert Griffin IIIFile this under “things we already suspected.” Washington Redskins president all but confirmed quarterback Robert Griffin III is finished in Washington. When asked if he thought RGIII would make it back next season, he responded, “Well, no.” Griffin didn’t play a single game this last season, and has been on a steady decline since his breakout rookie year. Allen said there are teams interested in RGIII, and the QB will have his pick of “a couple teams that will let him excel in the future.”
