Ole Miss Upset, Roethlisberger’s 6 TD’s, Wilson Quiets Controversy, Brady Big Win Over Chicago

FOOTBALL

In college football, there were some opportunities for upsets this weekend. Unranked Kentucky gave #1 Mississippi State a run for its money, however, Miss St. hung in there for the win and will hold on to it’s #1 ranking.  But, Mississippi State’s rival, #3 Ole Miss, didn’t fare as lucky.  Ole Miss traveled to Louisiana State University, an extremely tough place to play.  LSU pulled off the upset in a low scoring defensive battle.   LSU 10, Ole Miss 7.  Mississippi State 45, Kentucky 31.

Ben Roethlisberger.JPGIn the NFL, the red hot Indianapolis Colts went into to Pittsburgh looking to keep up their momentum. The Steelers, however, were coming off a win last weekend and looked mighty tough.   In a shocker for fans, they absolutely destroyed the Colts, but the big story of the game was Ben Roethlisberger throwing for 522 YARDS AND 6 TOUCHDOWNS!!  This Steelers’ team still has some defensive issues, but their offense is on fire right now.

Russell WilsonSeattle Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson was able to quiet the controversy of the week, (i.e. that there is a locker room divide and certain players don’t think that Wilson is “Black Enough”…and according to Wilson, he doesn’t even “know what that means”), and the Seahawks defense held the Carolina Panthers to under 10 points to grab the win and avoid losing 3 games in the row.  Seattle 13, Carolina 9.

Finally, in New England, the Patriots have seemingly turned things around this season.  The Pats’ offense looked unstoppable as QB Tom Brady tossed for 5 touchdowns in a big win over the Chicago Bears.   New England 51, Chicago 23.
