Giants Blow Out Royals In Game 1, Ram’s QB Austin Davis Gets No Respect, Michael Sam Cut

BASEBALL

Madison BumgarnerIt was the long awaited Game 1 of the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals.  The Royals came into this game undefeated in the post-season, but they didn’t anticipate the mighty Giants’ ace Madison Bumgarner.  The Royals bats shockingly couldn’t get anything going, while the Giants offense remained dominant.  Game 1 was a blowout, and the Royals need to quickly readjust their strategy before Game 2.  San Francisco 7, Kansas City 1.

FOOTBALL

And in the NFL, St. Louis Rams quarterback Austin Davis continues to look for respect.  Even though he just beat the defending Super Bowl champions last week (Seattle Seahawks), Davis still had to show ID at the stadium to prove that he belonged there.  He is probably the only quarterback in the league whose own stadium employees don’t know who he is.

Finally, in the NFL, all eyes earlier this season were on Michael Sam, the first openly gay player in the NFL.  He was drafted in the 7th round by the St. Louis Rams, but didn’t make the team.  Then, the Dallas Cowboys offered him a spot on the practice squad, but, unfortunately, Sam was released this week by Dallas.
