Steelers Don’t Look Back, Lebron And Cavs Look Tough, Lorde’s Royals Banned In SF

FOOTBALL

In the NFL, it was Monday Night Football between the Houston Texans and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Both of these teams desperately needed a win to get back on track, and early on, the Texans’ defense look determined to get it.  Houston had control of this game, but then, suddenly, in the last few minutes of the first half, the Steelers ripped off 24 straight points.  Wow!  And there was no looking back.  Steelers get the win, and they needed one given their difficult schedule ahead.  Pittsburgh 30, Houston 23.

BASKETBALL

LeBron James gave an interview yesterday where he actually admitted that the Chicago Bulls were better than his Cleveland Cavaliers.  The Cavs are a young team that haven’t really played together, while the Bulls have some solid veterans and their star Derrick Rose back.  But, in the exhibition game, the Cavs looked tough and ended up with the win. Sure, it’s the pre-season, but this is a good sign for the Cavs.   Cleveland 107, Chicago 98.

BASEBALL

LordeFinally, with the World Series starting today, the San Francisco area has done something rather kitschy to rally their fan base.  They have asked for all San Francisco radio stations to ban the song “Royals” by Lorde.  The Giants think there can be no positive sentiment towards the Kansas City Royals during the series.  Fortunately for the underdog Royals, an American League All-Star game win gave the Royals home field advantage for the series.  That could become a factor.
