Royals Even Up Series, Mettenberger Starts For Titans, Kobe Brings Fans But Not Much Playing Time

BASEBALL

In the World Series, after the Giants thrashed the Royals in Game 1, everyone was writing the Royals off as just lucky to be there.  This series, however, is seemingly reminiscent of the 1985 World Series when the Royals lost their first two home games to the St. Louis Cardinals, but still wound up winning.  And Wednesday night, Royals’ bats were hot and beat the Giants soundly to even the Series.  Kansas City 7, San Francisco 2.

FOOTBALL

Zach MettenbergerIn the NFL, the Tennessee Titans have really slipped this season, and they decided its time for a switch at quarterback.  They will turn to their rookie out of LSU, Zach Mettenberger.  Mettenberger had some question marks coming out of college, but he had a great pre-season.  It’s odd to see the Titans’ offense looks so anemic, as they boast a rather solid receiving corps in Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter.  But perhaps Mettenberger can utilize these weapons better.

BASKETBALL

And in the NBA, as Kobe Bryant is aging and injury prone, the Lakers organization isn’t taking any chances with him.  They’ve decided to shut him down for the remainder of the pre-season.  Nobody expects too much from Kobe this season, but he is still a huge audience draw for Lakers’ fans both in the stadium and on TV.  Even if they boast a losing record, they still want to roll out a team that features Kobe Bryant.  He always gets people to watch no matter what.
