Red Sox Trading Pitchers, Jamie Foxx To Play Mike Tyson, Florida State #1

BASEBALL

The Boston Red Sox seem to be trading all their storied pitchers away.  A few days ago, they traded John Lester to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for home run hitter Yoenis Cespedes.  And now they have traded veteran pitcher John Lackey to the St. Louis Cardinals.  This is an effort by the Red Sox to try and get younger, and, as for the Cards, they are desperately trying to sneak into the playoffs and need pitching help like Lackey.  Interesting moves at the trade deadline.

BOXING

Jamie FoxxMike Tyson revealed that Jamie Foxx has agreed to play him in a biopic of his life.  However, Foxx is a 46-year old actor, and the glory days of Tyson’s career were when he was a perfectly  built muscular figure in his early 20s.  Bit of a conundrum there.  Tyson then shared that they will accomplish this using special CGI, in which Foxx’s head will be superimposed on a more muscular man’s body to portray Tyson’s glory days.  If this happens, it could be very interesting.

FOOTBALL

In college football, the first polls were released, and surprise surprise, the defending champion Florida State Seminoles were ranked #1 overall.  This is primarily because they have their star quarterback Jameis Winston returning, and also have a healthy crop of incredible defensive players coming in.  They will have plenty of competition en route to getting back to the National Title game, including hungry teams like Ohio State, Oregon, and Alabama, but the Seminoles are still going to be very tough to take down.
