Giants Receiving Corp Suffering, Fortnite Champ Bugha Wins $3 Mill, Bernal Wins Tour De France, Stroman To Mets

FOOTBALL

It’s only been three days into the New York Giants training camp, and already the team’s receiving corp is suffering. Sterling Shepard fractured his thumb and will be out most of the pre-season, and Golden Tate has been suspended four games for performance-enhancing substance abuse violations. Their #3 and #4 receivers have also sustained injuries.

GAMING

Professional video gamers competed over the weekend for $30 million in prizes at the Fortnite World Cup Finals at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Sixteen-year-old Kye “Bugha” Giersdorf won the Solo finals with a prize of $3 million.

CYCLING

Twenty-two-year-old Egan Bernal became the first Colombian to win the Tour de France. He’s also the youngest cyclist to win the race in more than 100 years.

BASEBALL

The New York Mets appear to be in reshuffling mode after Sunday’s news that the Blue Jays traded pitcher Marcus Stroman to the NY Mets. The Rays will receive pitching prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson. There’s also speculation that the Mets will trade Noah Syndergaard (possibly to the San Diego Padres). Expect more news from around the league for the next two days as the Major League Baseball trade deadline is Wednesday.
