Brady Ends Suspension With Big Win, Odell’s Fun With Nets, Dak On Way To Rookie Record, Blue Jays Sweep Rangers

FOOTBALL

A few highlights from the weekend NFL games:

tom-bradyTom Brady officially ended his 4 game suspension for deflategate in a big win against the Cleveland Browns (who are now 0-5 and potentially on their 6th quarterback of the season). The team was clearly energized, and Brady did not disappoint by throwing for over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tight end Rob Gronkowski said it best, “Everyone was intense today. Everyone was amped up. Tom always brings the amp-ness to the table. So we were just excited to get back out there, get back on track and get a win.” New England Patriots 33, Cleveland Browns 13.

The New York Giants lost to the Green Bay Packers, but the Giants Odell Beckham Jr seems to be putting his anger issues to rest. All week, sports fans have been talking about his inability to control himself, but on Sunday he appeared calm and happy and even had some fun (after making a beautiful touchd0wn catch) by hugging a kicking net he punched a couple of weeks ago.

Dak Prescott, QB of the Dallas Cowboys, is on his way to setting a rookie record for number of passes without an interception. He currently has 155 passes and needs 8 more to eclipse Tom Brady’s rookie record. Even though Prescott has been performing beyond expectations, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones still maintains injured QB Tony Romo will be the starting QB when he’s healthy. Cowboys RB, Ezekiel Elliott made a big contribution to the game by rushing for 100 yards in his 3rd consecutive game.  Dallas Cowboys 28, Cincinnati Bengals 14.

BASEBALL

The Toronto Blue Jays swept the Texas Rangers to advance to the American League Championship Series. The Blue Jays win marks the first series in Major League Baseball history to end with a walk off run scored via an error. This is the second straight year the Blue Jays advance to the ALCS.
