Tebow Trying Out For MLB, King Wins Gold And Expresses Outrage At Doping, SNL’s Jones Goes To Rio, Biles Real Parents

BASEBALL

Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow wants to pursue a career in professional baseball. Tebow played baseball in high school and has been training all year to see if he still has what it takes to make a team. All 30 Major League Baseball Teams will watch him workout later this month. Tebow is 29 years old and currently works as an ESPN broadcaster. Good luck to Tebow!

OLYMPICS

19 year old Lilly King won Gold in the 100-meter breaststroke but is getting more attention for her rivalry and public “finger wagging” with Russian silver medalist Yulia Efimova. King accused Efimova of being a “drug cheat” and wasn’t shy about expressing her outrage at any athlete doping. After winning the Gold, she told the press, “It’s incredible, winning the gold medal and knowing I did it clean.”

Leslie Jones 2After a number of Olympic themed tweets, NBC Executives decided to bring Saturday Night Live cast member (and co-star of the new “Ghostbusters” movie), Leslie Jones to Rio to help cover the Olympics. NBC Execs said they loved her enthusiasm!

Everyone has their eye on USA gymnast Simone Biles but an NBC announcer, Al Trautwig,  got himself in hot water when he referred to her parents as her grandparents and not her real mom and dad. Ron and Nellie Biles adopted Simone and her sister in 2001 when Ron’s daughter (and Simone’s biological mother) had issues with drugs and alcohol. Trautwig apologized for his mistake.
