Panthers Beat Texans, McCaffrey Injured, Manning Bros Show 1.9 Mill Views, Ryder Cup Wknd, “Operation Soccer Balls” Success

The Carolina Panthers beat the Houston Texans on Thursday night, but their star running back Christian McCaffrey left during the second quarter due to a strained hamstring. It’s unclear when he’ll be back. Panthers’ quarterback Sam Darnold had a solid night completing 23 of 34 passes for 304 yards and two running touchdowns in the 24-9 win.

The Manning brothers’ Monday Night Football show seems to be taking off. Their viewership jumped from 800,000 in week one to 1.9 million in week two.

The Ryder Cup weekend is here. The three-day tournament features the U.S. against Europe with 12 golfers per team. The U.S. team has been split into “pods” where four-man units have to do everything together in order to create a sense of unity and team spirit. The last time the U.S. used the four-man pod system was in 2008 when the Americans won.

The international mission named “Operation Soccer Balls” was a success. The 80 members of the Afghanistan girls soccer team (adults and children) escaped the country and have been granted asylum in Portugal.
