Simmons Won’t Report To Camp, WNBA Playoffs Begin, Texans To Start Rookie Mills

BASKETBALL

According to reports, Philadelphia 76ers All-Star forward Ben Simmons has stated he will not play for the team (or in the NBA if he’s not traded) and won’t be showing up for training camp. Simmons still has four years and $147 million left on his contract with the Sixers.

Speaking of training camps, LeBron James organized a three-day minicamp in Las Vegas for the Lakers. The last time he organized a minicamp was in 2019, and the Lakers won the Championship that season.

The WNBA playoffs begin tonight. The Semifinals will take place on September 28th, and the Finals will tip off on October 10th.

FOOTBALL

The Houston Texans will start rookie Davis Mills (third round pick from Stanford) at quarterback (for an injured Tyrod Taylor) on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Deshaun Watson is still listed on the team’s roster but is inactive after reports of 22 women filing lawsuits against him for sexual assault or harassment.
