BASKETBALL

With a 102-96 win, the LA Lakers are now up 3-1 against the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. LeBron James finished with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, while Anthony Davis recorded 22 points and nine rebounds. After the win, LeBron said, “It’s a chess match. When you get to this point in your career, having your mind at a high level is so much more [important] than the physical. To be able to think through the game, see the adjustments and make plays before they even seem possible, that’s the best part for me personally.” The Lakers could close out the Finals on Friday in Game 5.

The NY Rangers selected Alexis Lafreniere as the first pick in the NHL Draft. With the #2 pick, the Los Angeles Kings chose Quinton Byfield.  And, with the third pick, the Ottawa Senators added some pizzaz by having “Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek announce the selection in the form of a “Jeopardy” style question. Tim Stutzle was the answer to, “With the third pick in the 2020 NHL draft, the Ottawa Senators choose this player.”
