Saints, Ravens, Chiefs Secure Playoff Spots, 49ers & Broncos On Roll, College Rankings Set, Brady Wears OSU Gear

FOOTBALL

The NFL regular season is almost over, and three teams (New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs) have already secured playoff spots. With three weeks to go and nine playoff spots left, every game is important. In a few highlights from Sunday’s games, the San Francisco 49ers prevailed over the New Orleans Saints in a thrilling 48-46 victory allotting them the current #1 seed in the NFC. The Denver Broncos also had a good week. Their rookie quarterback, Drew Lock, has only started two games, but he’s won both and looks promising. In Sunday’s 38-24 win over the Houston Texans, Lock threw for three touchdowns (with one interception). Star linebacker Von Miller said about him, “That guy is an (expletive) rock star.”

In college football news, the Playoff rankings are set with LSU finishing first, followed by Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma. The semifinals will be on December 28th at the Fiesta Bowl (Ohio State vs Clemson) in Arizona and the Peach Bowl (LSU vs Oklahoma) in Atlanta. The National Championship will be on January 13th in New Orleans. For a list of all the Bowl games, click here.

Ohio State had a lot to celebrate over the weekend. Not only did they secure their spot in the  semifinals of the college football playoffs, but they also beat rival, University of Michigan, forcing Michigan alums, Tom Brady and Chase Winovich to pose for a photo wearing OSU gear. The photo quickly went viral.
