Keenum To Redskins, Irving Online Tirade Agst NFL’s Drug Policy, Soccer’s U.S. Womens Team Sues Federation

It won’t be official until March 13th, but looks like the Denver Broncos traded quarterback Case Keenum to the Washington Redskins. At 31 years old, Keenum provides extra insurance for the team. Keenum and Colt McCoy will compete for the quarterback position if starter Alex Smith isn’t ready to return after suffering a broken tibia and fibula last November.

Cowboys defensive lineman, David Irving, aired a 20-minute tirade against the NFL’s drug policy on Instagram Live. Irving has been suspended indefinitely for violating the league’s drug policy and took to the airwaves (while appearing to smoke marijuana) to announce his grievances with the league and report he was quitting football. He said, “Basically guys, I quit. There’s a lot of (expletive) (expletive) up with the league.” He went on to say, “How many NBA players you see get in trouble about this? How many coaches you see get in trouble about this? How many baseball players get in trouble? UFC players getting in trouble? How many actors?”

All 28 players on Soccer’s U.S. Women’s National Team sued the U.S. Soccer Federation for gender discrimination, alleging that their male peers on the Men’s National Team make more money even though they have the same job responsibilities and haven’t performed nearly as well as the women’s team. The men’s team failed to qualify for the the 2018 World Cup, while the women’s team has won three World Cups and four Olympic gold medals.
