Holtby’s Big Save And Capitals Even Series, Klay Thompson’s Chess Obsession

Everyone is talking about Washington Capitals’ goalie Braden Holtby who saved the day with his third-quarter save in game 2 of the Stanley Cup. The Capitals tied the series against the Vegas Golden Knights one game each. Game 3 is on June 2nd at 8:00 pm ET.

The Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first game of the NBA Championship at 9:00 pm tonight. There are many articles and stats about which team has the advantage and what players are doing to prepare for one of the biggest series of their career. The Wall Street Journal just came out with an article about Klay Thompson’s off-court obsession: Chess! Thompson plays chess every day (starting in grade school) and according to his childhood friend, “One thing about Klay is that he’s at his best when you back him into a corner. He’ll be playing loose, but once I show I’m a threat, he can really lock in.†According to the reporter, “Thompson plays basketball the way he plays chess”.
