Romo’s Graceful Exit, LeBron’s Upset About “Posse” Comment, Baseball’s Manager Of Year

FOOTBALL

Tony Romo will officially return to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday but as a backup QB to Dak Prescott. An emotional Romo told the press  “He’s earned the right to be our quarterback. As hard as that is for me to say, he’s earned that right. He’s guided our team to an 8-1 record and that’s hard to do.” Romo turned the reigns of the team over to rookie Prescott in August after he hurt his back. lebron-2LeBron James is not too happy with Knicks’ coach Pat Riley describing LeBron’s business associates as his “Posse”. In an interview Riley gave to ESPN, he spoke about the difficulties in LeBron leaving Miami for Cleveland. In the course of his explanation he described a situation where LeBron wanted to stay over in Cleveland for a night. He said, “You can’t hold up the whole team because you and your mom and your posse want to spend an extra night in Cleveland.” LeBron felt this phrasing was a racial slight and responded by saying, “If you go and read the definition of what the word ‘posse’ is, it’s not what I’ve built over my career,” James said. “It’s not what I stand for, it’s not what my family stands for. I believe the only reason he used that word is because he sees young African-Americans trying to make a difference.”

The Manager of the Year awards were handed out in Major League Baseball and to no one’s surprise, Terry Francona was named the American League Manager of the Year. Not quite so obvious, however, was Los Angeles Dodgers’ Manager Dave Roberts getting the nod for National League Manager of the Year. Many thought the honor would go to the World Series Champs Joe Madden of the Cubs.
