Cubs Curse Is Over With World Series Win In Greatest Game Ever

BASEBALL

Cubs World SeriesIn what will go down as the greatest World Series Game 7 in history, the Chicago Cubs overcame the curse that has plagued them since 1908 to finally become Champions again. After nearly 5 hours (including a short rain delay) the Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians in 10 innings  8-7. The game started off looking like the Cubs would cruise to victory with Dexter Fowler’s leadoff home run (the first leadoff homer in World Series Game 7 history). Through the 5th inning, the Cubs had a 5-1 lead until pitcher Jon Lester came in from the bullpen and immediately gave up 2 runs to make it a 5-3 game. Later Aroldis Chapman came in to relieve Lester and also gave up a couple of runs. When the game was tied 6-6 in the 10th inning, and momentum seemed to be leaning towards the Indians, the sky opened up and the players headed back to the dugout for a short rain delay. Those 17 minutes seemed to changed the course of the game. When the teams returned to the field, the Cubs shook off their mistakes and belted in 2 more runs. Shortly after, the greatest game in baseball history was over, and the Cubs are now Champions! Click here for some of the amazing highlights of this historic game.
