LOOK OUT FOR OUR NEW MULTIMEDIA WEB SITE! IN THE MEANTIME, ENJOY OUR WATERCOOLER CHATS: BASEBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS, PACMAN JONES IN TROUBLE

Baseball

The country is getting baseball fever as the League Championship games are set to begin.

First up, the underdog Tampa Bay Devil Rays take on the Boston Red Sox.  Dice-K, the Japanese ace, will start at pitcher for the Red Sox, while James Shields will start for the D-Rays.  Setting the starting pitcher of Game 1 is of paramount importance because it dictates the entire strategy of the series.  Coaches think about future possible pitching duels, which pitchers are better at home or on the road, and also whom they want readily available if it goes to Game 7.  It’s a very calculated decision.

Meanwhile, the LA Dodgers will take on the Philadelphia Phillies tomorrow.  Two historic franchises vying for the World Series.  In the past 126 years, the Phillies have only won a total of 5 playoff series.  For those of you keeping score… that ain’t much.  Furthermore, both of these teams are HOT right now, and playing extremely well.  In fact, many experts are saying that the Phillies could surge to the World Series and even take down the mighty Red Sox (that is, if the Devil Rays don’t take care of the Bo-Sox first)

Football

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier this season that he likes drawing as much attention as possible to the Cowboys organization.  He wants people talking about his team non-stop.  This includes signing troublesome players that he knows will attract heavy media attention; players like Adam “Pac Man” Jones, who faced myriad legal battles while a member of the Tennessee Titans.  Well… it looks like he’s at it again, as Pac Man reportedly got into a fight with one of his OWN security guards at a hotell.  Um, doesn’t attacking your own protector defeat the whole purpose of security.

Check out this story on the new lingerie football league. Yes, it’s true, this publicity stunt that aired on pay per view at the Super Bowl is now becoming a real league set to debut in 2009. I’m actually a little speechless on this one…just watch the video.
