Denver Beat Miami In Game 1, National Spelling Bee’s Winning Word: Psammophile, Knights Vs Panthers In Stanley Cup

Denver handily beat Miami 104-93 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić (with a triple-double) and Jamal Murray adding 26 points are going to be tough to stop in this series. Game 2 is Sunday night in Denver.

OTHER

Fourteen-year-old Dev Shah won the 95th national spelling bee. With a prize of $50K, Shah’s winning word was psammophile, “an organism that prefers or thrives in sandy soils or areas.”

HOCKEY

The Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Florida Panthers play Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday night. Neither team has ever won a championship.
