Cowboys, Chiefs Clinch, Packers #1, Joe Burrow Sets Record, Bowl Cancellations, 49er GM Accidentally Likes Tweet While At Mass

The Dallas Cowboys clinched their first division title since 2018 before they headed to the field and subsequently destroyed the Washington Football Team 56-14 on Sunday. The Green Bay Packers (12-3) are currently the #1 seed in the conference, while the Cowboys at 11-4 are playing at their top level in order to get a high seeding.

In other division races, the Kansas City Chiefs grabbed their sixth straight AFC West title, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their first NFC South title since 2007.

In other NFL news, thanks to four passing touchdowns and no interceptions, second-year quarterback Joe Burrow led the Cincinnati Bengals to a big 41-21 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow set a team record for most passing yards in a single game.

The college football world is dealing with an increasing number of Bowl cancellations and changes due to COVID-19 issues. Both the Military Bowl featuring Boston College and East Carolina and the Fenway Bowl with Virginia and SMU were canceled. Miami is also withdrawing from the Sun Bowl causing Washington State to look for a replacement.

San Francisco 49ers GM John Lynch had to massively apologize for liking a “tweet disparaging his starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo”. According to Lynch, “it was an accident that happened while he was at Christmas Eve mass.”
