Dodgers Win World Series, Turner Tests Positive And Still Celebrates With Team

BASEBALL

With a 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series. The win marks the first time in 32 years the Dodgers have held the championship trophy.

The celebration after the game was bizarre, however. The Dodgers’ third baseman Justin Turner was pulled out of the game in the 8th inning and told he had tested positive (twice) for COVID-19. He was told to isolate, but immediately after the win, he came back on the field to celebrate with his teammates. He even removed his mask during the team photo commemorating their championship. What was even more surprising is he was sitting next to Dave Roberts, the Dodgers’ manager, who was diagnosed 10 years ago with Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Good news for Taco Bell fans today. The fast-food chain is handing out free tacos all day Wednesday thanks to the Dodgers’ Mookie Betts having stolen a base in Game 1 of the Series.
