Jeopardy Phenom Finally Loses, Kawhi’s Lawsuit Against Nike

JEOPARDY

Jeopardy phenom James Holzhauer’s run is finally over. On Monday night, Holzhauer answered his Final Jeopardy question correctly but didn’t wage enough money and lost to Chicago librarian Emma Boettcher. Holzhauer explained his strategy, “I knew I could only win if Emma missed Final Jeopardy, as there was no way she wouldn’t bet to cover my all-in bet. So my only concern was getting overtaken by third place, and I bet just enough to make sure of locking him out. Betting big would have looked good for the cameras, but now I turn my straight bet (Emma misses) into a parlay (Emma misses and I get it right).”

BASKETBALL

Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard recently filed a lawsuit against Nike. He is claiming the company committed fraud by using a logo Leonard designed (called “Klaw”), falsely taking credit for the design, and applying for copyright registration. Leonard’s endorsement deal with Nike expired at the end of September 2018. He is now currently working with New Balance. Kawhi is currently in California preparing for Wednesday’s game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.
