NBA

Kevin DurantThe Oklahoma City Thunder stood their ground against reigning NBA champions the Golden State Warriors in their first matchup of Round 3, the Western Conference Finals. Thunder players Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook put their skills on display, scoring a combined 53 points. The win wasn’t entirely without controversy, with officials missing a traveling call on Westbrook in the final 20 seconds. Stephen Curry, who is still not 100% after injuring his knee earlier in the postseason, scored a respectable 26 points in the loss. Oklahoma City 108, Golden State 102.

The Ravens reportedly had an illegal padded practice during their Rookie Minicamp. Players wearing pads during practice is illegal in the NFL offseason. The rule is meant to protect players from excessive tackling. Yet the Baltimore Ravens reportedly had a five minute punt protection drill. Reps claim the team was unclear that the offseason rule applied to Rookie Minicamps as well. The NFL is investigating and, as all practices are filmed, the transgression should be easy to confirm. It could end up being a costly mistake for Baltimore.
