WATERCOOLER CHAT: LEBRON SCORES 49 POINTS FOR WIN, PORTLAND GETS A WIN, MANZIEL WON’T START

BASKETBALL

In the NBA, it was Game 4 between the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets.  The Nets grabbed Game 3 and hoped to even up the series before it heads back to dangerous Miami.  Miami, however,  had no interest in making this series interesting in any capacity, and LeBron turned on the jets to get the job done.  He scored a whopping 49 points to help the Heat win.  He could have easily had over 50, but he knew that the key to winning this game was getting his teammates involved at the end.  The Heat now lead 3-1 with the series headed back to Miami.  Miami 102, Brooklyn 96.

Then, it was Game 4 between the San Antonio Spurs and the Portland Trail Blazers.  The Spurs have the Blazers on the ropes right now, as they have absolutely dominated this series.  But, you can’t count out a young team that has nothing to lose. With that said,  Portland handily beat the Spurs.  The series now heads back to San Antonio, with the Spurs leading 3-1.  Portland 103, San Antonio 92.

FOOTBALL

Finally, in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns may have made Johnny Manziel one of their first round picks.  And sure, it’s true that their season ticket sales have been going through the roof since making the pick.  And, yes, Manziel is one of the top selling NFL jerseys right now.  However, the Browns have made it clear to Manziel that he is at the bottom of the totem poll.  Coming into mini-camp, Bobby Hoyer is the starter, not Manziel.  Hoyer actually played well for the Browns before getting injured for the season.  Manziel will have to earn the spot as the starting QB.
