Winston LASIK, Kaepernick Memoir, Snoop Dogg Apologizes

FOOTBALL

Tampay Bay quarterback Jameis Winston, who was always seen on the sidelines squinting at the scoreboard, finally got LASIK eye surgery. Winston was the #1 pick in the 2015 NFL draft and is now an unrestricted free agent. Last season he became the first quarterback in the NFL history to throw 30 touchdown passes and 30 interceptions.  No word yet on whether the Buccaneers will re-sign Winston.

Colin Kaepernick is writing a memoir explaining what motivated him in 2016 to begin kneeling during the national anthem while he was the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He said, “I’ve had a lot of questions surrounding what got me to the point of protesting, ‘Why did I do it? Why did I do it at that moment? Why wasn’t it earlier in my career? A lot of questions surrounding what led me to that point. Which led me to wanting to share that story and give insight.”

BASKETBALL

Snoop Dogg apologized to Gayle King for attacking her on social media. During an interview with WNBA star Lisa Leslie, King brought up Kobe Bryant’s rape case from 2003 and asked if it complicated Kobe’s legacy. Snoop Dogg responded on social media by saying “King should ‘back off, b—-, before we come get you.” According to reports, King has been getting death threats after the rapper made the comments.
