Wil Lutz Makes History, Raiders Win W/O Brown, Jerry Rice “We all got played”

FOOTBALL

In a wild finish on Monday night football, New Orleans kicker Wil Lutz made history with a 58-yard field goal as time expired to give the team a 30-28 win over the Houston Texans. The career-long kick for Lutz also ranked as the longest field goal in the final 10 seconds of a season-opening game (since the 1970 NFL/AFL merger).

The Oakland Raiders capped off a difficult week dealing with the Antonio Brown saga and came out looking strong and focused in their season-opening win over the Denver Broncos (24-16). Speaking of Brown, former San Francisco 49er and Hall of Famer Jerry Rice said “We all got played” by Brown. He went on to say, “I think when he asked to be released from the Steelers, he wanted to go to the Patriots. He wanted them to trade him to the Patriots. And there was no way that the Steelers would trade him to a rival. So he had to go a different route. And he decided to come through the Bay Area. And I feel sorry for the fans over in Oakland. He was a Denzel Washington and he won the Oscar. He won an Oscar, guys. I’m gonna be honest with you.”
