Harden & Westbrook Streaks, Murray Fully Committed To NFL, Hunt Signed By Browns

BASKETBALL

Two amazing streaks continue in the NBA.

With 31 points against the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets’ James Harden continued his incredible streak of at least 30 points in his 30th consecutive games. Harden was suffering from a sore shoulder and started the game with his shot slightly off. He then came back and scored 10 points in the final 3 minutes of regulation.  Daryl Morey, the Rockets’ GM, is calling Harden’s streak,  “The Unguardable Tour”.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook broke a tie with Wilt Chamberlain for the most consecutive triple-doubles in NBA history. In a win over the Portland Trailblazers, Westbrook recorded his 10th straight triple-double with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists.

FOOTBALL

Former Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner, Kyler Murray, made the announcement he’s “firmly and fully committing” to the NFL.  Murray was the 9th pick by the Oakland A’s in the Major League Baseball draft but has decided he’ll enter the NFL draft where he could be a top pick. Expect to hear a lot of talk about his size (under 6’0″) and his relative lack of playing time (as he only started as a quarterback for one season in college). The 2019 NFL draft is April 25th.

In other football news, the Cleveland Browns signed former Kansas City Chiefs’ running back Kareem Hunt, who was released from the Chiefs after a video from a hotel surfaced showing him kicking a woman, for a one-year deal. Hunt apologized for his actions saying, “First off, I would like to once again apologize for my actions last year. What I did was wrong and inexcusable. That is not the man I was raised to be.”
