Kings Hire Robitaille As President And Blake As GM/VP, Cavs Lose In OT, NFL Players Fined For Wrestling

HOCKEY

The Los Angeles Kings fired their coach and President/GM on Monday after another losing season. Hall of Famer and Kings’ royalty Luc Robitaille will take over as the new team President. The Kings love Robitaille. They even built a bronze statue of him (along with Wayne Gretzky) near the entrance to the Staples Center where they play. Fellow Hall of Famer, Rob Blake will become the new Vice President/GM.

BASKETBALL

With an overtime loss to the Miami Heat on Monday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers are now one game behind the Boston Celtics for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference.  What’s got to be even more upsetting to the team is it’s the second time in a row they’ve blown a 4th quarter lead. On Sunday, the Cavs blew a huge 26-point lead to lose to the Atlanta Hawks.  The Heat breathed a sigh of relief as the win kept their postseason hopes alive. They are currently tied with the Chicago Bulls for the 8th seed in the East. Heat 124, Cavs 121.

FOOTBALL

The NFL has a strict policy of no gambling, which is why a number of NFL players are in trouble for participating in a “Pro Football Arm Wrestling Championship” in Las Vegas over the weekend.  Among the players fined are: Kenny Stills (Dolphins), James Harrison (Steelers), Navorro Bowman (49ers), Patrick Chung (Patriots), and Lucky Whitehead (Cowboys).
