Wild Card Weekend, Odell Beckham JR’s Bad Decision

FOOTBALL-THE PLAYOFFS

After 4 blowout games, Wild Card weekend is over and the playoffs are set.

The Houston Texans ousted the Oakland Raiders and will be huge underdogs against the New England Patriots. The Pittsburgh Steelers destroyed the Miami Dolphins and will face the Kansas City Chiefs. With the 26-6 blowout of the Detroit Lions, the Seattle Seahawks will travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons. The Green Bay Packers will play the Dallas Cowboys after their win over the New York Giants.

Odell Beckham Jr 2The story of the weekend was when Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers threw a Hail Mary at the end of the first half of the wild card playoff game against the Giants and Randall Cobb snagged it for a touchdown.  The momentum of the game changed, and the Packers never turned back. To add insult to injury, almost the exact same play catapulted the Giants to a win over the Packers and an eventual trip to the Super Bowl five years ago.  As anticipated, the other story of the game will continue to be the Giants Odell Beckham Jr deciding to party in Miami the week before this wild card game. With only 4 catches, 28 yards and a couple of dropped passes, Beckham insists his disappointing performance had nothing to do with his pre-playoff excursion. He said, “At the end of the day, I went through practice, had zero drops, zero missed assignments — there was nothing to connect seven days ago to [Sunday’s game] and how we played and executed. There is just nothing in the world. It’s just not realistic.” Beckham might even be in more hot water after the game as the security at Lambeau field is investigating reports he punched a hole in the wall. Packers 38, Giants 13.
