Yankees And Rangers Clinch Playoff Berths, Questionable Calls In Ravens TNF Win

BASEBALL

Yankee StadiumThe New York Yankees clinched a playoff spot with a win over the Red Sox Thursday night. The Yankees are the first American League franchise to clock 10,000 wins. In more playoff news, for the first time since 2012, the Texas Rangers will also appear in the postseason.

FOOTBALL

The Baltimore Ravens came from a 13 point deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers on a field goal in overtime. QB Michael Vick subbed for the injured Ben Roethlisberger and played well but coach Mike Tomlin had some questionable calls during OT that has had fans scratching their heads. Not only did Tomlin opt against field goal attempts and go for it on 4th down (both failures but understandable as Josh Scobee had already missed 2 field goals during the game) but he also failed to get the ball to their best player LeVeon Bell. Ravens 23, Steelers 20.
