Grizzlies, Celtics, Suns, Heat Win Game 2’s, Simmons Microdiscectomy, Herro Sixth Man, $9.3 Mill For Maradona’s Jersey

BASKETBALL

Matching his playoff career-high of 47 points, Ja Morant led the Memphis Grizzlies to a Game 2 win over the Golden State Warriors. Morant joins Kobe Bryant and LeBron James as the only players in the NBA who have scored multiple 45-point playoff games at an age younger than 23 years old. The semifinal series is tied at 1-1.

The Boston Celtics also evened their series with the Milwaukee Bucks and are now 1-1.

Thanks to the stellar play of Devin Booker and Chris Paul, the Phoenix Suns blew out the Dallas Mavericks to take a 2-0 lead.

The Philadelphia 76ers are clearly hurting without injured star Joel Embiid (facial fracture and concussion) and are now down 2-0 to the Miami Heat.

In other NBA news, former 76er and current Brooklyn Net, Ben Simmons, will have a microdiscectomy for his back pain.

Miami Guard Tyler Herro was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year.

SOCCER

The shirt Diego Maradona (considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of the League) wore when he scored the “Hand of God” goal in the 1986 World Cup against England sold at auction for $9.284,536 million, making it the highest price ever paid for an item of sports memorabilia.
