Bucs Win Super Bowl LV, Brady Officially The GOAT, Gronk & Brady’s T-Mobile Ad, NFL Awards Highlights

FOOTBALL

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers cruised to an easy victory over the Kansas City Chiefs and won Super Bowl LV. Facing a battering from the Bucs defense, the Chiefs were under fire all night. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes couldn’t find his footing as he was pressured 29 times, more than any quarterback in Super Bowl history. For all the highlights of the game, click here. Bucs 31, Chiefs 9

Quarterback Tom Brady is now officially the GOAT. With the Bucs win, he has amassed 7 Championships, which is more Super Bowl wins than any other NFL FRANCHISE. The Patriots and Steelers won the Super Bowl 6 times while the Cowboys and Niners have 5 championships each. Brady also won his record 5th Super Bowl MVP. Brady’s buddy and one of his favorite targets, Rob Gronkowski, came out of retirement to play with Brady and made history as well. He moved into second place all-time in Super Bowl catches and receiving touchdowns, only trailing the legendary Jerry Rice. And, speaking of Jerry Rice, Brady and Gronk passed the iconic Joe Montana and Jerry Rice duo for the most playoff touchdowns by a quarterback-receiver pair (14). This ad with Gronk and Brady for T-Mobile says it all!

In some non-Super Bowl news, the NFL handed out its annual awards. Here are a few highlights:

Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers won his third MVP award.

Tennessee Titans Running Back Derrick Henry won Offensive Player of the Year.

Los Angeles Rams Defensive Lineman Aaron Donald won Defensive Player of the Year, becoming only the third player in NFL history to win a third time.

Washington quarterback Alex Smith won Comeback Player of the Year after nearly having his leg amputed.

The Cleveland Browns’ Kevin Stefanski was named coach of the year.
