Georgia Vs Alabama In College Football National Championship, Hirings/Firings In NFL

FOOTBALL

Monday’s College Football Playoff did not disappoint. First up was #3 Georgia against #2 Oklahoma. For the first time in Rose Bowl history, the game went into overtime with the score a whopping 45 to 45. Then after a field goal a piece, the game went into a second overtime. Oklahoma attempted another field goal during their first possession, but Lorenzo Carter jumped up and deflected the kick. All it would take is a field goal or any combination of points for Georgia to win. On the next drive, Georgia’s Sony Michel ran the ball into the end zone for the win. The Bulldogs earned the right to compete in the National Championship. Georgia 54, Oklahoma 48.

In the Sugar Bowl, #4 Alabama took on former National Champion #1 Clemson. The game was relatively unexciting, as Alabama dominated the line of scrimmage the entire night and handily won 24-6. The Crimson Tide will face Georgia on January 8th at 8:00 pm.

Now that the NFL regular season is over, vacancies are opening up for coaches and general managers. As of Monday, more than there were at least six coaching vacancies. In a particularly touching and tearful goodbye, Bruce Arians retired as Cardinals head coach after 5 seasons, because he wants to spend more time with his family. He tearfully said, “I will miss the game….it’s been a great ride”

In addition, Jim Caldwell from the Detroit Lions and John Fox from the Chicago Bears were fired as were Oakland Raiders Jack Del Rio and Indianapolis Colts Chuck Pagano.
