WATERCOOLER CHAT: PACERS OFF TO HOT START, HEARTWARMING MOMENT FOR LOUISVILLE’S WARE

BASKETBALL

In the NBA, the Indiana Pacers are off to a hot start.  They have a budding superstar in Paul George, but their supporting cast is also playing great.  They have David West, Lance Stephenson, George Hill, Danny Granger, and the newly added Louis Scola.  Wednesday night they took on a Chicago Bulls team that is struggling this season.  The Pacers are undefeated, but the Bulls are 1-2, and Derrick Rose doesn’t look nearly as good as he did before his injury.  The Pacers took advantage of that. This team is playing as a perfect unit, and will give the Heat a serious run for their money in the East.  Indiana 97, Chicago 80.

And, in college basketball, the returning champion Louisville Cardinals had one last exhibition game before the season started.  But nobody expected to see Kevin Ware back on the court for the Cardinals.  In March, he suffered one of the worst basketball injuries ever seen on television.  So bad that it brought players on the court to tears.  So when he walked out on the court, the entire crowd rose to their feet and cheered for Ware.  It was a heartwarming moment, and it looks like Ware will be able to contribute to Louisville’s run at a repeat this year.
