In the NFL it was Monday Night Football rivalry game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.  This was an important divisional match-up, as that division is very close at the top between the Packers, Bears, and Lions.  But, early in the game, the Packers got some bad news when Aaron Rodgers took a rough hit, and had to head to the locker room.  He wouldn’t return to the game.

Meanwhile, for the Bears, even though everyone had the Packers penciled in as the winners in this game, Josh McCown filled in nicely for Jay Cutler and led a very efficient Bears offense.  He even had 2 touchdown passes on the night.  The Packers got a solid game from their running backs James Starks and Eddie Lacy, but in the end, the Bears defense was able to hold the Packers and secure the victory.  A huge surprise win for the Bears.  Chicago 27, Green Bay 20.

Elsewhere in the NFL, the situation in Miami is getting worse.  As we’ve discussed, the Dolphins Johnathan Martin recently left the team to deal with emotional stress caused by bullying.  The details were hazy on this story, but yesterday it was revealed that Dolphins offensive tackle Richie Incognito made phone calls to Martin using many racial slurs and derisive verbiage.  It was pretty disgusting.  The Dolphins had no choice but to cut Incognito, leaving them with an even worse offensive line.   This story continues to develop.

And in the NBA, it was a battle of two teams that some think will compete for the Western Conference Finals:  The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers.  This was the first time Dwight Howard set foot in LA since leaving earlier this year.  The Clippers’ Chris Paul turned on the jets, and had an amazing 23 point, 17 assist evening.  They even had 78 points in the first half!!  Wow.  The Clippers won easy, and appear to have turned things around.  LA Clippers 137, Houston 118.

And, in the most important news of the weekend,  the Screaming Weasels (my fantasy football team co-coached by David and Eric), easily beat the hated Ziti Shooters (Michael and Ira) ending their winning streak and causing them to seriously question the rest of their season. We can taste the chicken parmesan dinner awaiting us as we prevent their three-peat and start a new dynasty.
