Ravens Win, Burrows Injured, Harbaugh Agrees To Suspension, Northwestern Names Braun Head Coach, Vegas Grand Prix, A’s Move To Vegas, Ohtani, Acuña MVP’s

FOOTBALL

The Baltimore Ravens cruised past the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football with a 34-20 win, but the big story of the night was Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow leaving in the second quarter with a right wrist injury. This could be devastating news for Cincinnati if Burrows is out for awhile.

In college football news, Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh has accepted his three-game suspension (which after last weekend is now only 2 more games). The Big 10 also agreed to end its investigation.

Northwestern made David Braun the permanent head coach, after longtime head coach Pat Fitzgerald was fired for hazing allegations. Braun has taken the team to a 5-5 this season, after the team went 1-11 last year.

FORMULA ONE

Las Vegas is hosting the Vegas Grand Prix this weekend, but other than a star-studded opening ceremony featuring John Legend, ticket sales are lower than expected. Part of the issue could be that Max Verstappen has already clinched the championship.

BASEBALL

Speaking of Vegas, the Oakland A’s have been given the go-ahead by Major League Baseball to move to Vegas. The new stadium won’t be finished until 2028 though.

To no one’s surprise, LA Angels superstar two-way player Shohei Ohtani was named American League MVP, and Atlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuña Jr. won the National League MVP award.
