Jones ACL, Bengals 4th Straight Win W/Burrow, Chiefs Trick Play, C.J. Stroud’s Rookie-Record, Big Ten Sends Michigan Notice

FOOTBALL

Recap of NFL games from the weekend:

One of the biggest stories of the weekend (biggest injury) was the NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones tearing what appears to be his ACL, which will sideline him for the rest of the season. Unfortunately for the team, Jones had just come back from a neck injury.

The Cincinnati Bengals recorded their 4th straight win thanks to a solid performance from quarterback Joe Burrow. Bengals 24, Bills 18.

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Miami Dolphins in Germany Sunday morning, thanks in part to a trick play late in the first half. The Chiefs Mike Edwards recovered the ball from Tyreek Hill and lateraled the ball to Bryan Cook who ran it in for a 59-yard touchdown.

The #2 pick in the NFL draft, Houston Texans C.J. Stroud (Ohio State) threw for a rookie-record 470 yards in a 39-37 win over the Buccaneers. Stroud has been having an amazing year with 14 touchdowns and only one interception.

In college football, the Big Ten sent a formal notice of potential disciplinary action to the Michigan athletics department over the football team’s alleged illegal sign-stealing. We’ll know in the next couple of days what this means for coach Jim Harbaugh and the team.
