Coco Gauff & Novak Djokovic Win Open, Brady Will Get Early Induction To Patriots HOF, 49ers & Cowboys Great Start

Coco Gauff beat Aryna Sabalenka to win her first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open. Gauff is the first American player to win a U.S. Open singles title since 2017.
In the men’s final, Novak Djokovic beat Daniil Medvedev in straight sets giving him his 24th major title, a men’s singles record. At 36 years old, Djokovic became the oldest man to win the U.S. Open in the Open era.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will waive the team’s four-year waiting period for induction to the Patriots Hall of Fame to bestow that honor on Tom Brady. Brady has said he considers himself “a Patriot for life” and will attend a one-day ceremony on June 12, 2024 (reflecting Brady’s jersey number) to celebrate the occasion.
In the first weekend of the NFL season, there were some notable games.
The San Francisco 49ers, with Brock Purdy quarterbacking the team, blew away the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-7. Purdy threw two touchdowns to Brandon Aiyuk, and Christian McCaffrey ran for 169 yards.
The Dallas Cowboys destroyed the NY Giants 40-0 in the most lopsided game of the day. It was the largest shutout victory in Cowboys history and the largest Giants’ home shutout loss in the history of the franchise.
